What are Vector Images?

Vector images are able to be resized and scaled without the visible pixelation as they are optimised by mathematical statements and ‘redrawn’, allowing users to decrease or increase their file without any problems.

What are Bitmap Images?

Unlike vector’s mathematical statements, bitmap images are created from rows of pixels with different colours, together they create an image. They are often blurred or pixelated when stretched or size is increased.

JPG/JPEG

JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. It is used in digital cameras for exampls tablets. JPEGs are more frequently used for processing images. These images can be of a large size and compressed into a smaller file size, avoiding any heavy loss of detail, although the quality of the image tends to be lower.
