Today in class we have covered the importance of photography in design and how it can be used correctly to create a professional atmosphere on a webpage or project. We began to look deeply into the photography history, the first photographs taken by Joseph Niepce in black and white and the first colour photographs by James Clerk Maxwell. The class has talked and learnt on how far we as humans have advanced in the photography field, from taking barely visible unclear images to having HD Resolution cameras inside our phones including all the features in cameras.
Today’s class has made me look at the webpages I view consistently differently such as JD Sports or Nike. As the images that were taken were taken specifically in certain angles to show the product in the best way possible and have been sized and placed appropriately on the webpage so it seems attractive for the viewers.
This made me think about how I will be designing my future landing pages or even applications, as I have always avoided using photography in these designs due to pixelization, although with correct placements and resolution this can be added to create a more impressive effect on my viewers of my projects.
