Industrial Revolution began in the 1750s. It caused a huge historical impact across the world shifting works from being made by physical hands to being created by machinery. People began to move from villages / countryside's to more populated areas like towns and cities, searching for jobs which specified in mass metal production and machinery production.
Economy began to demand for a larger amount of materials to be collected and used such as steel & coal, while creating more cars, roads, tunnels and railways etc.
The economy began to transition from production by hand to heavy use of machinery, which had a greater efficiency.
Faster production lead to new discoveries and experiments in arts as well such as the discovery of photography & moving photography (moving images).
Vic Bell located in England, Durham, is a Senior Illustrator for GitLab. Vic has her own website showcasing the projects she was included in and that she has successfully accomplished. The most attractive one to me personally was Bell’s project for **‘’Blink’’. *(*A mobile application designed for frontline workers for clear communication)
Bell worked with blink from their early start up days. This led to many revisions and templates being created over the years to find the perfect style representing their company and needs. This has led to their ‘’current isometric style’’

Personally the designs look light & positive due to the selected light color palette but also smooth and well spaced / structured which makes it easy to look at.
Although after a while, the company decided to demand a mascot design to show the users on how the ‘’online bots’’ are used. After many suggestions the final name was found and the mascot was named as ‘’Blink bot’’.
This was an important stage for Vic as well as the company as the mascots design motivated the design team to redevelop the design style during the process. Many seasonal outfits were created for the bot e.g. Christmas outfit, to match the users atmosphere.
The website’s and mobile designs became more filled with contrast and colour to match the design style of the mascot.
These designs then were labelled as successful and used in the upcoming updates of the application. I prefer this refined style as it feels like there is more life to the designs and playfulness with positively filled emotions.
