The class has covered the importance of icons throughout the industry and designs. We have looked at historical icons that have been effective in their times and are still admired till today such as Olympics icons. We have been shown examples of different types of icons such as high detailed or glyph icons, and how they can be used as an advantage to connect the audience to a brand or product.
This has had an impression on me as designs that were created decades ago are still used for inspiration today, I never knew this so it is a good learning curve to know how important icons are within this industry and how big of effect they play on the audience when exposed to them.
This makes me aware now that Icons are more than simple lined designs, they are a gateway to attraction of the project or brand and portray the values or emotions of the particular product.
Since I have been inspired by many of the listed artists this week, I have decided to continue my research on Laura Bee. Laura has attracted my eye with her clean simple but yet effective and attractive icon designs, that represent brands or topics in a unique feeling. This is something I want to learn and become better at.
