Exploring Type

Type allows us humans to communicate a message without the originator being present in the moment, no one has to stand and say a specific instruction or message. Therefore picking a typeface is important as it shows the brands values and ties it into a typeface, as it is one of the first elements the viewer will notice, as to what emotion or atmosphere is the given font / typeface creating about the product

What is a user persona?

A user persona lists out key elements or information from your ideal or near ideal customer based on their likes, dislikes and personality features. Many user personas can be created using near fictional characters, this still allows the company / brand to identify imaginery pain points or a perfect customer.

Although realistic user personas can be created by researching demographics, reading online reviews from similar companies or industries, analysing customers behaviours and personality traits.

A user persona makes a clear outline on the users behaviour patterns or personality traits e.g.

Usually user personas are created by designers in templates which allows them to create multiple users with similar designs.

Why are they important?

To appropriately understand a certain target audience, many brands / companies will insist on creating user personas to get a deep understanding of the needs that are required in the certain industry.

User personas can help companies understand the user pain points, concerns and expectations when creating a product, therefore the company will hold more knowledge and experience based on the user personas resulting in a more successful product.
