We got into groups today, the goal was to decide in the first week on what topic we want to choose and what area of design are we going to be comfortable in talking about. There was no easy topic, all of them set a challenge. We created a snapchat groupchat for our group so we are able to discuss ideas and ask eachother questions if needed outside of uni to keep the group project progressing.
During the first week, our group came to an agreement to choose the ‘Design systems in Olympic games’. This topic we are believing to be interesting due to the fact that there are many other olympic games and each unique designs for them, therefore it is a large space to analyse and pick from, with enough space for each one of us.
We do not understand the term, design system, therefore all of us are currently researching on what an actual design system is. This is in importance as we have to describe olympic games but from a design system point of view.
Currently we are searching for what year each one of us is going to talk about. I have selected Rio 2016 olympics as I have watched them couple years ago, and absolutely loved it, the designs were warm and playful which always made a great atmosphere, therefore I was interested on why this was chosen.
A miro board has been created to allow us access eachothers research material and look at the progress that we are making. This allows us to create a better communication in a group. We creatged a miro board and used a link, copied it and sent it through emails to the team so everyone has access to the board.
As everyone has been starting their research on the Olympic Games of their choice, we are constantly adding any changes to our research onto miro, to keep everyone notified.
Today we discussed the presentation, how are we going to structure it and who will be talking about what. We have discussed and decided that one person needs to do an introduction and explain what a design system is and how it can be used, this person is me. I will continue my research on Rio 2016 aswell as research on design systems, trying to create a near perfect description for it so it is easy to understand. This is a list of the listed positions
Introduction - Dawid Jelen (Me)
Examples - Anna Long
Old Olympic Games Designs - Lucy Barlow
New Olympic Games Designs - Rebekah Leonard
Conclusion - Ankit Sai Santosh Kumar
As we are approaching the deadline, we have successfully put all of our research onto miro. Here is a look at it. But can also be found when clicked on this link.
